This dynamic leadership development class is a proven training program for the next generation of federal leaders. Programmed to enhance the developmental pathway of all employees – including managers, supervisors, and executives – this course addresses two-thirds of the Leadership Skills identified within OPM’s five ‘Executive Core Qualifications’ needed for success in government.
Session 1: “The Leadership Foundation is Built on Personal Growth and Credibility.”
This session helps identify the value of a healthy leadership mindset and mental perspectives which renew the energy, creativity, and focus of the agency.
Session 2: “Learning that Real Leaders Take Action.”
Accomplishing the strategic initiatives, goals, and the mission of the agency is dramatically improved when leaders demonstrate an action bias and make change possible.
Session 3: “Leaders See the Future and Share the Vision.”
It’s a leader’s responsibility to express the long view. When the power of vision is released, organizations make significant progress toward meeting the needs of its customers.
Session 4: “Leadership Means Investing Your Time and Energy into People.”
Great leaders who focus on bringing out the best in the people and encourage participation and innovation; succeed.
Session 5: “Your Character Says More about Your Leadership than Any Other Talent.”
‘Who you are’ goes well beyond ‘what you do.’ People you seek to lead will first decide if you can be trusted – evaluating your character, values, and ethics.
Session 6: “Communication Links Leaders and Followers.”
Accomplished leaders lead from the front, middle, and back of the pack. Two-way communication is essential to keep up momentum and motivation and makes you effective.
